first_imgGurugram: In order to make sure that Delhi metro in Gurugram has a greater reach the Detailed project report (DPR) for Gurugram stretch for Delhi metro will be amended again.As of now, the Gurugram metro culminates at HUDA City Centre but the Haryana government in collaboration with RITS is planning to extend it to the older city. There are now plans to connect the metro with Rapid metro at Ambience mall. The move is not only expected to increase the connectivity of Gurugram even better but alsoexpectd to bring in more ridership for rapid metro which is incurring losses. We are therefore thinking of amending the DPR where in the metro can ease the connectivity between old and new Gurugram,” said a senior public official from Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA). Earlier in March Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had approved ort (DPR) for metro rail connectivity from HUDA City Centre. The metro project was to be implemented by Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC). The total length of the metro rail line would be 31.11 kilometres and it would have 25 stations and six interchange stations. The metro stations which have been proposed on this route are HUDA City Centre, Sector 45, Cyber Park, Sector 46, Sector 47, Sector 48, Technology Park, Udyog Vihar Phase 6, Sector 10, Sector 37, Basai, Sector 9, Sector 7, Sector 4, Sector 5, Ashok Vihar, Sector 3, Krishna Chowk, Palam Vihar Extension, Palam Vihar, Sector 23 A, Sector 22, Udyog Vihar Phase IV and V and Cyber City. Now with the revised plan the new route will be extended from Udyog Vihar and connected to Rapid Metro that runs along the busy Delhi-Jaipur expressway. Haryana government will also set up a metro link between Gurugram and Faridabad, the richest cities in the state. The metro link between the two cities will be of the distance of over thirty kilometres. There will be seven stations between Bata Chowk in Faridabad and Sector-45 in Gurugram. The state government will be investing over Rs 5,900 crore in the project and have set a deadline for completion in the year 2021.last_img
