Next month is going to be all about the Galaxy S10 lineup, but before we get to that, Samsung is planning to disrupt the affordable segment with the Galaxy M series. The Galaxy M series global debut will happen in India on January 28 where it is widely expected to see the launch of the Galaxy M10 and M20 smartphones. The Galaxy M series is Samsung’s bid to start something new and introduce some new technologies in the budget segment to draw consumers away from the likes of Xiaomi, Realme and Nokia. The Galaxy M10 and M20 are shaping up to be those phones as they are going to bring a few first-time features like Infinity-V displays and a massive battery capacity, never seen on a Samsung phone before. Here are 5 reasons why you should wait for the Galaxy M10 and M20.- Based on the teasers from Samsung, the Galaxy M-series aims to attract the youth. This means Samsung will most likely bring some changes to the design of its budget phones from what we once knew before. The design of the M10 and M20 is expected to keep in line with the current trend, which is why Samsung is finally adopting the notch with its Infinity-V display. Apart from that, the Galaxy M series will also bring some much-needed features like a Type-C port with fast charging technology, something that is pretty rare to see in the affordable segment, and something we have definitely not seen on a previous affordable Samsung phone.advertisement – The display will of course be the biggest highlight of the Galaxy M10 and M20. It is pretty clear that both the phones will be the first Samsung phones to sport the company’s new Infinity-V display. The ‘V’ stands for the V-shaped waterdrop notch on the display, something that became a trend in the second half of 2018. The Infinity-V display will look to provide an immersive screen with minimal bezels and more screen real estate. While Samsung won’t be the first to bring the waterdrop display to the budget segment, it is still one of the very few brands to do so, which consumers will likely appreciate.– Another feature Samsung is really highlighting in its teasers is the battery. It has been rumoured multiple times that the Galaxy M20 will be Samsung’s first phone to come with a massive 5,000mAh battery. The M10 may not get the same capacity and is rumoured to get a smaller yet significant 3,400mAh battery, which should be pretty sufficient for a phone that is likely to come with a 720p display.– Samsung has already confirmed in the past that its M-series phones will have at least dual rear camera, so the Galaxy M10 which is expected to fall under Rs 10,000 will get dual optics on the back. Based on what rumours have told us, the phones will get a 13MP + 5MP configuration on the back and a possible 5MP sensor on the front. Interestingly, some reports suggest that the phones may offer a secondary camera with an ultra wide-angle lens, which would be quite unique to see in this segment.– Pricing will be crucial if Samsung is serious about taking on the competition in the affordable segment. Sources close to India Today Tech revealed the prices of both the Galaxy M10 and M20. According to our sources, the Galaxy M10 will be priced at Rs 8,990 while the Galaxy M20 will cost Rs 12,990 in India. These are likely the prices for the base models, in case the Galaxy M10 and M20 come in more than one variant. What past rumours have suggested is that the Galaxy M20 will come with 3GB of RAM with either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage.ALSO READ | Exclusive: Samsung to launch Galaxy M10 at Rs 8,990, M20 at Rs 12,990ALSO READ | Samsung Galaxy M20 live image reveals dual rear cameras, fingerprint sensorGet real-time alerts and all the news on your phone with the all-new India Today app. Download from Post your comment Do You Like This Story?
