first_imgQuickly rising to the tops of Americana playlists everywhere, The Wood Brothers continue their hold on the live music scene with the announcement of a brand new album! Titled Live At The Barn, the new album showcases The Wood Brothers’ full live performance inside Levon Helm’s famed recording space, The Barn. The new Live At The Barn album is due out on January 13th.Taken from a performance on August 9th, 2016, the musical magic of The Barn only enhanced the band’s abilities. Says Oliver Wood, “We’re huge fans of Levon’s and count him as a big influence. Since we actually got to know him, his influence was more than musical—it was personal. He was one of those unique and powerful personalities, and I’ll always remember how gracious he was. We also got to know Levon’s daughter Amy quite well and have had great tours and collaborations with her. She’s a beautiful soul just like her dad, and we have fond memories of playing with both of them in that barn.”He adds, “It’s so intimate and casual that it feels less like a concert and more like a living room jam. The spirit in there is strong, from the history and the intent that Levon had when he built the place to all the great music and musicians that have played there.”Check out the first track from Live At The Barn below, a fitting cover of The Band’s “Ophelia” which premiered on Rolling Stone earlier today. You can find out more about Live At The Barn on the band’s website, and see both the tracklisting and full Wood Brothers tour schedule below.Live At The Barn Tracklisting1.
