He’ll put the pigskin down and pick up the fishing reel.Strobl turned away from several small football opportunities in the Midwest and committed to taking a spot on the Dallas Baptist University Fishing Team, the top program in the country. Carhartt Bassmaster College Series Tournament Director Hank Weldon awarded the top spot to the program.Currently the team is gearing up for the Carhartt Bassmaster College National Championship in late July.
NORTHEAST HARBOR — The 39th annual Northeast Harbor Ambulance Service 5-mile Road Race and Family Fun Walk are slated for Saturday, Aug. 20.All proceeds will benefit the Northeast Harbor Ambulance Service, Inc. — a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation. The scenic race course will begin on Sargeant Drive. Walkers will start at 9 a.m., and runners will take off at 9:30.Participants should park in downtown Northeast Harbor, and they will be taken to the starting line by bus from Great Harbor Museum on Main Street.Some 200 runners competed in the race last year. The first 75 entrants will receive free T-shirts.
